DAY-BY- DAY ITINERARY
Day 1: Day of arrival to Oporto airport and transfer at our accommodation with a welcome dinner in a typical restaurant the region.
Day 2: Walking distance today is 20 km. Walk along the River Vez and its wooden bridges. River that is born in the heart of National Park. You will be able to see the way of life local people, their agriculture. Along the trail in a protected area and the green and the calm give us all day. We will go to the middle of the trail for a small pic nic on the river’s edge
Day 3: Sistelo day. Let’s start the day to visit a picturesque historic village of the National Park. Here we will start our trail with 22 km. We will go along the trail to know the “Little Tibetan Portuguese” and its way of life with its terraces of cultivation, where we will stop for a small pic nic. We will pass a beautiful river that will allow the most adventurous a refreshing dip in its cold waters.
Day 4: On this fourth day, we will visit the oldest Vila de Portugal, Ponte de Lima. Full of history where it is possible to make a historical visit to the medieval and Roman monuments. Feeling the weight the history of this corner Portugal. Trail with 18 km along the river Lima. Where we will see old stone muffins used to grind the corn kernels to make flour for the bread for the local people. Along this trail you can see a rich fauna and flora this protected area of the territory. This trail starts in the same old village of Ponte da Barca, land of old lords.
Day 5: Oporto day. We booked this day to do the hiking tour to the city of Oporto. It is the city that gave the name to Portugal – from very early (c. 200 a.C.), when it was called Portus Cale, later to become the capital of the Portucalense County, from where Portugal was formed. Just like the famous Lello bookstore. We will visit the city at the same time as we will visit the monuments and places that marked the history of Portugal. Part of this day is free so that guests can walk freely and make some purchases. At the end we will taste a wine of Porto, next to the Douro River, emblematic river where the grapes that give origin to the Port wine are produced.
Day 6: Departure day. We’ll have a farewell coffee. Transfer to the airport.
